Looking around the airplanes and military, there has been a start for this since the year 1913. The planes since years have outgrown and received varied modern engineering works. Hereinbelow is a short overview of the best of largest Military planes which touched the sky, till date.

 

  • Boeing B-29 Superfortress was another one to find a way during World War II, helping the United States. It was a build of 1943 and was one amazing to lead the way to victory for battle during the Korean war. It was a modern build with 4 engines and was one expensive weapon of the decade.

  • Antonov An-22 “Antei”, is one standard-setter for the military cargo planes. It holds the title of Largest Turboprop aircraft and is the one with remarkable agile. It can transport heavy missiles with little risk and safe landing.
  • Boeing KC-135 Strtotanker came for use with aerial refuelling. It was titled as American Air Force’s first jet-powered refuelling tanker, which helped Americans fighter jets, a lot overseas.
  • Blohm & Voss BV 238, a flying boat, introduced by the German army in the year 1944. It was bulky and lacked an impact in operation but is one largest aircraft during World War II by Axis powers.
  • Douglas XB-19 gained fame during World War II. It was one intimidating plane which helped carry massive weapons easily.
  • Tupolev Tu-160 was presented by Russian in 1987, called to be heaviest combat aircraft and the largest design. It has an ability of speed of Mach 2 and in the 80s was a great match to be called a work of art even today.
  • Convair B-36 Peacemaker was just the opposite of name. Between 1948-1959, it was a strategic bomber by the American side during the Korean War. Its main use is nuclear testing, which works under the USAF strategic Air command, and is one popular one of time.

  • Lockheed C-5 Galaxy, an outdid work of Engineers. There were some technical difficulties but the same has been solved as on date and the plane is still in circulation around.
  • Antonov An-124 has a name in commercial aviation together with the military. Constructed by Antonov Design Bureau, it is one of 80s build which can still be seen around.
  • Hughes HK-1 Hercules, the plane never made it off Tarmac and was taken to skies twice. Today, the same is just an attraction to the museum in Oregon
  • Antonov An-225 Mriya hit the runways in 1988 and was one last plane of the gargantuan military. It is the largest and heaviest of all which is still used by Russians. It holds a world record for carrying the cargo and also can be seen in the air shows.
